MCSC GUN RANGE RULES AND REGULATIONS
THE FOLLOWING RULES ARE EXPECTED TO BE FOLLOWED BY ALL SHOOTERS ON THE GUN RANGE

  1. SHOOTING HOURS WILL BE FROM 10 A.M TO 7P.M ALL WEEK
  2. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON THE GUN RANGE PREMISES AT ANY TIME. NEVER USE ALCHOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.
  3. A WAIVER OF LIABILITY MUST BE SIGNED YEARLY BY ALL SHOOTERS BEFORE SHOOTING. THEY MUST BE LEFT IN THE BOX AT RANGE IF NOT ALREADY ON FILE WITH THE SECRETARY. WAIVERS MUST BE SIGNED BY MINORS AND PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN.
  4. ALL RANGE MEMBERS MUST PAY A THIRTY (30) DOLLAR FEE AND HAVE THEIR RANGE MEMBER CARD WITH THEM ON THE RANGE. THIRTY DOLLAR MEMBERSHIP FEE ALLOWS ALL FAMILY MEMBERS UNDER 21 YEARS, GRANDCHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS, AND GUESTS TO USE RANGE. GUESTS MUST PAY A $3.00 GUEST FEE EACH TIME THEY SHOOT.  GUESTS ARE LIMITED TO USE THE RANGE TWO TIMES A YEAR. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL WANT TO JOIN MCSC TO USE THE RANGE FURTHER.
  5. NO MINORS WILL BE ALLOWED TO SHOOT ON THE RANGE WITHOUT PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN STANDING BESIDE THEM.
  6. THERE SHALL ONLY BE ONE MINOR SHOOTER PER ADULT SUPERVISOR ON THE SHOOTING LINE AT A TIME.
  7. ONLY SHOOTERS AND PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE SHOOTING LINE.
  8. ALL LOADING OF GUNS WILL BE ON SHOOTING LINE ONLY.
  9. THERE ARE TO BE NO FULL AUTOMATIC WEAPONS/AMMUNITION OR ILLEGAL WEAPONS ON THE PREMISIS
  10. SHOOTERS WILL FURNISH THEIR OWN TARGETS. CLUB WILL FURNISH HOLDERS UNTIL THEY ARE SHOT UP AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN. METAL TARGETS WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED FOR RAM FIRE CARTRIDGES.
  11. PISTOL SHOOTERS MUST SET/USE TARGETS AT BERM. WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SHOOT FROM THE 100 YARD LINE.
  12. THERE WILL BE NO SPEED, TRICK, QUICK DRAW SHOOTING ON THE RANGE.
  13. MEMBERS AND GUESTS WILL CLEAN UP CARTRIDGES AND GARBAGE WHEN FINISHED SHOOTING.
  14. NO TRAP SHOOTING WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE RANGE.
  15. ALL SHOTS MUST BE PUT IN THE BERM IF PATTERING SHOTGUNS. (EXAMPLE WOULD BE FOR A TURKEY SHOOTING.)
  16. ANY PROBLEMS OR POSSIBLE PROBLEMS THAT COULD DEVELOP ON THE RANGE, SHOOTERS SHOULD CALL A CEASE FIRE UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS ALL SETTLED.
  17. BE SURE TO HOIST THE RED FLAG IN DESIGNATED AREAS TO SHOW ALL PEOPLE ON THE PROPERTY THAT THE RANGE IS HOT IN USE. THE LAST PERSON TO LEAVE SHOULD TAKE DOWN THE RED FLAG AND PLACE IN THE PROPER PLACE.

SOME GENERAL RULES THAT ALL SHOOTERS ON THE RANGE SHOULD FOLLOW IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE (APPLICABLE TO ALL RANGES)

  1. ALWAYS POINT THE GUN IN A SAFE DIRECTION. DOWN RANGE.
  2. ALWAYS KEEP THE GUN UNLOADED TIL READY TO USE
  3. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER TILL READY TO SHOOT
  4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND
  5. BE SURE THE GUN IS SAFE TO USE.
  6. KNOW HOW TO USE THE GUN SAFELY.
  7. ONLY USE THE CORRECT AMMUNITION FOR YOUR GUN
  8. HAVE ONLY ONE GUN AND AMMUNITION OUT OF THE CASE AT A TIME.
  9. WEAR EYE AND EAR PROTECTION AS APPROPRIATE
  10. BE AWARE OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL RULES UNIQUE TO PARTICULAR SITUATIONS.
  11. KNOW AND OBEY ALL GUN RANGE COMMANDS.
  12. BE AWARE OF OTHERS AND BE PREPARED TO REACT TO ANY HAPPENINGS OUT OF THE ORDINARY.
  13. SHOOT ONLY AT AUTHORIZED TARGETS.
  14. DESIGNATE A RANGE LEADER IF OTHER PEOPLE ARE THERE
  15. OPEN, UNLOAD, AND BENCH OR GROUND ALL FIREARMS DURING CEASE FIRE
  16. DO NOT HANDLE FIREARMS OR STAND AT THE FIRING LINE WHEN OTHERS ARE DOWN RANGE
  17. SMOKING, EATING, OR DRINKING WHILE ON THE FIRING LINE WILL BE PROHIBITED
  18. ALL FIRING MUST BE DONE FROM DESIGNATED FIRING LINES OR POSITIONS
  19. BE COURTEOUS, HELPFUL, AND WORK WITH OTHER SHOOTERS.
  20. REMEMBER IF YOU CAN’T DO IT SAFELY, DON’T DO IT.

**THESE ARE NOT TO BE TAKEN AS THE ONLY RULES. OTHER RULES ARE SAFETY ISSUES NOT MENTIONED ABOVE MAY BE ADDED BY THE COMMITTEE OR BOARD AT ANY TIME AS DEEMED NECESSARY.
*** ANY VIOLATION OR UNSAFE PRACTICES OBSERVED BY SHOOTERS WHILE ON THE RANGE WILL BE REPORTED TO THE COMMITTEE AND THE BOARD AND ACTIONS MAY BE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY. ACTIONS MAY INCLUDE A VERBAL OR WRITTEN WARNING OR THE ULTIMATE PENALTY FOR SERIOUS VIOLATIONS COULD BE LOSS OF RANGE.
